Finance Minister Mujtuba Shuja Ur Rehman Wednesday presented the Punjab Finance Bill in the House, which was approved by a majority vote.
Before the approval of the bill, the government and the opposition members came on the same page on the issue of determining the authority to increase the salaries of the members of the assembly.
Session chaired by Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmad Khan, the government and the opposition members were on the same page over the opposition member Rana Aftab’s objection regarding the determination of the authority to increase the salaries and allowances of the members of the assembly. The members of the assembly said that they are the people’s representatives in the house.
The speaker takes the budget for the salaries and allowances of the members of the assembly from the government.
The Speaker of the Punjab Assembly reserved the ruling regarding the determination of the authority to increase the salaries and allowances of the members of the assembly.
Opposition member Nadeem Qureshi condemned the sudden increase in the tariff after the consumption of two hundred units of electricity. While other members of the assembly explained the problems of their respective fields. After completing the agenda, the Speaker Punjab Assembly adjourned the meeting until 2 pm on Thursday.
