KARACHI: A Karachi judicial magistrate on Saturday remanded alleged drug network operator Anmol alias Pinky into police custody until May 22 in a narcotics-related case.
Anmol was arrested earlier this week from her Karachi apartment in connection with cases involving narcotics possession and an unlicensed weapon. Authorities say she already faces several criminal cases.
She appeared before multiple magistrates in Karachi South, Central, and Malir districts, where police requested her physical remand in 15 separate cases. In most of the cases, the courts denied police custody and instead ordered judicial remand.
In the narcotics case registered at the Specialised Investigation Unit (SIU/CIA) police station under the Sindh Control of Narcotic Substances Act 2024, the court approved six days of police custody instead of the requested 14 days. The judge stated that the investigating officer had presented reasonable grounds for the remand.
During the hearing, Anmol alleged that she had faced mistreatment while in police custody and requested medical examination and treatment. The court directed authorities to arrange a medical check-up through a woman medico-legal officer.

Separately, a magistrate granted police a two-day remand in a murder case linked to alleged narcotics supplied by Anmol’s network. Investigators claim she operated an organised drug distribution system involving riders, suppliers, dealers, manufacturers, and managers.
Anmol denied the allegations, claiming the cases against her were fabricated. She also stated that she had been arrested in Lahore weeks earlier and subjected to torture before being brought to Karachi.
Her lawyer argued that evidence in the murder case had been manipulated and suggested that her former husband may have attempted to implicate her after their separation.
Police officials say investigations are expanding and may involve foreign nationals connected to the narcotics network. Punjab police are also reportedly preparing to seek her custody in older cases registered in Lahore.
