The hearing was conducted by Humayun Dilawar, where the accused appeared along with her counsel Naeem Bukhari. During proceedings, the prosecution informed the court that although a written response had been submitted by the accused, she had not appeared before investigators.
Dr Fazeela Abbasi contested the claim in court, stating that she had attended multiple times. However, her counsel advised her to refrain from addressing the court directly and to let legal arguments be presented through him.
Bukhari argued that the trial court had earlier rejected the bail plea on the assumption of misuse of concession, a decision later overturned by the Islamabad High Court. He maintained that the high court found no misuse of bail by his client.
In response, Judge Dilawar clarified that the high court had not ruled on the merits of the case but had instructed the trial court to reconsider the bail and ensure the accused joined the investigation. He also observed that interim bail had already been in place for nearly three months.
The court subsequently extended the interim bail and directed the accused to cooperate with the investigation. The hearing was adjourned until April 20.
During the proceedings, Dr Fazeela Abbasi also filed an application seeking restoration of a joint bank account with Hamza Ali Abbasi, which had been frozen by the Federal Investigation Agency as part of the probe. The court accepted the application for record.
Meanwhile, the FIA submitted a challan in the money laundering case. Officials confirmed that two separate cases have been registered against the accused — one concerning alleged financial irregularities and the other related to operating an illegal clinic.
The court is expected to hear both matters, including bail confirmation and the bank account restoration request, at the next hearing.
