LAHORE — An Iftar dinner was hosted in honour of Ali Hussam Asghar at Spice Bazaar in Gulberg, attended by a large number of members of the business community.

The event was hosted by Khalid Billa, Sheikh Zafar and Syed Ramzan Shah, while the leadership of the Papers Business and Industry group arranged the gathering in honour of the PBG chairman.
A significant number of business leaders, importers and representatives of the PBG participated in the dignified event held at Spice Bazaar Gulberg. Vice President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry Khurram Lodhi also attended the dinner, along with representatives from the steel sector including Mian Tahir and Tayyab Mehmood.
Speaking on the occasion, Ali Hussam Asghar thanked the hosts and participants, saying he felt indebted due to the large number of Iftar and Sehri gatherings being organised simultaneously. He added that hundreds of chamber voters attend each Iftar and Sehri event, for which he was grateful.
He said PBG had always pursued politics based on vision, a clear roadmap, transparency and delivery, adding that the role of the chamber should be to serve industrialists and traders.
Business community leaders also announced their full support for Ali Hussam Asghar. Haris Atiq said Asghar would become a historic president in the history of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and would take the institution to greater heights.
Khurram Lodhi said the leadership of PBG and its alliance was serving the business community within the chamber. Riaz Shahid Tajak stated that Ali Hussam Asghar would be elected president of the Lahore Chamber with a heavy majority.
Rana Abdul Rafiq said young business leaders were being provided modern guidance within the chamber, while Syed Yousaf Shah remarked that Asghar had laid the foundation for restoring respect for the business community.
Sheikh Zafar said chamber voters currently see Ali Hussam Asghar as their voice, while Khalid Billa said PBG leaders were united in their support for him. Syed Ramzan Shah added that PBG represents politics of respect, service and goodwill.
Among others present at the event were former executive committee member Raja Hassan Akhtar, Chaudhry Mahmood Aslam, Sheikh Zain Elahi, Mian Imran Asghar, Muhammad Yaseen, executive committee member Asif Khan and PBG General Secretary Syed Mardan Ali Zaidi.
