ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan may witness another reduction in petroleum product prices from January 16, sources said.
Petrol is expected to drop by Rs4.59 per litre, while diesel may become cheaper by Rs2.70 per litre. Light diesel and furnace oil could also see price cuts of Rs2.08 and Rs1.82 per litre, respectively.
The Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is scheduled to submit its final calculations to the Petroleum Division on January 15. Following this, the government, in consultation with the Finance Ministry and the Prime Minister, will make the final announcement.
Earlier this year, petrol prices were reduced by Rs10.28 per litre and diesel by Rs8.57 per litre, providing some relief to consumers who continue to feel the pinch from rising costs. Officials noted that while the upcoming reduction may seem modest for some, it will help ease the financial burden on commuters and businesses alike.
