Alizeh Shah issues ‘final warning’ to Yasir Nawaz over repeated public remarks

(Web Desk) – Pakistani actor Alizeh Shah has issued what she described as a “final warning” to actor-director Yasir Nawaz, asking him to stop mentioning her name publicly and accusing him of defamation.

In a series of Instagram stories, Alizeh said it had been five years since she last worked with Yasir, yet he continued to refer to her in talk shows and public appearances. She said his past experience of working with her did not give him the right to repeatedly drag her name into public discussions.

The warning came after a recent episode of Geo Entertainment’s comedy show Hasna Mana Hai, where Yasir Nawaz and his brother Danish Nawaz appeared as guests. During a game segment, the brothers were asked to choose a celebrity as a hypothetical sibling from two options displayed on screen, one of which included Alizeh Shah. Danish jokingly suggested Yasir would choose Alizeh as his sister, prompting a light-hearted but dismissive response from Yasir.

Following the broadcast, Alizeh reacted strongly, stating that she had documented evidence of multiple shows in which she believes Yasir defamed her. She said that while he has occasionally apologised, he has also repeatedly described his experience of working with her as “not fun”.

Calling it her final warning, Alizeh said she would file a defamation lawsuit if Yasir mentioned her name or referred to her in any capacity on any future platform. She also warned that if the behaviour continued, she would disclose what she claimed were the real reasons behind his dissatisfaction with working with her, saying it would not reflect well on his image.

The dispute between the two dates back to 2020, when Yasir Nawaz publicly criticised Alizeh’s alleged behaviour on the set of the drama serial Mera Dil Mera Dushman. At the time, he said he had struggled during the shoot and did not enjoy the experience. His wife, host Nida Yasir, also spoke about the issue, stating that actors should keep their private lives separate from their professional roles.

Yasir’s past remarks had sparked widespread debate on social media, with several celebrities weighing in. While some supported his stance, others, including actor Feroze Khan and singer Momina Mustehsan, publicly defended Alizeh.

Following the renewed backlash, Yasir later expressed regret over publicly naming and criticising Alizeh, but the actor has now made it clear that any further reference to her could result in legal action.
