LAHORE: Under the chairmanship of Punjab Minister for Sports, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, an important meeting was held at the National Hockey Stadium to review the promotion of Padel Tennis in Punjab and the provision of modern facilities for this new sport.

During the briefing, it was informed that a state-of-the-art Padel Tennis Court will soon be constructed at Nishtar Park Sports Complex to introduce the youth to this modern game. The meeting also decided to establish international-standard Padel Tennis courts in Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
The Sports Minister stated that the Sports Board Punjab is committed to providing world-class sports facilities.
He announced that “Padel Tennis will be included in the Khailta Punjab Pink Games,” marking the introduction of this modern sport in Punjab for the very first time.
He added that the Sports Board Punjab, in collaboration with the Padel Tennis Association, will actively work for the promotion of this game.
Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar further emphasized that the scope of Padel Tennis will be expanded next year, opening new opportunities for young athletes.
He directed that a comprehensive presentation be prepared for the early organization of a Padel Tennis event, while also ensuring due attention to Punjab’s traditional games. Highlighting the government’s vision, the Minister said: “Padel Tennis courts will be developed according to international standards, and the first-ever international Padel Tennis match will soon be hosted in Lahore.”
He added that international sports events in Punjab will not only showcase the province’s positive image but also provide new directions to the younger generation.
The meeting was attended by President Pakistan Padel Federation Mansoor Ali Khan, General Secretary Fahad Bakhsh Elahi, Associate Secretary Barrister Bilal Shafiq, Secretary Sports Muzaffar Khan Siyal, DG Sports Khizer Afzaal Chaudhry, along with other officials and stakeholders.
