In a thrilling Asia Cup 2025 match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India secured a convincing seven-wicket victory over Pakistan.
Their win was driven by stellar performances from Suryakumar Yadav and Abhishek Sharma. Despite Pakistan’s Saim Ayub claiming three early wickets, including both Indian openers within the first six overs, India maintained relentless momentum throughout the chase.

Pakistan struggled against India’s spinners, managing only 127 for nine wickets. Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, and Varun Chakravarthy combined for six wickets, dismantling Pakistan’s batting lineup.
Pakistan’s innings started disastrously with Saim Ayub dismissed for a duck on the first ball by Hardik Pandya, followed by Mohammad Haris falling for 3 to Jasprit Bumrah, leaving the score at 6.
Fakhar Zaman (17) and captain Salman Agha (3) fell to Axar Patel, while Kuldeep Yadav removed Hasan Nawaz (5) and Sahibzada Farhan (40 off 44).
Shaheen Afridi’s unbeaten 33 off 16, including four sixes, provided a flicker of hope to Pakistan who fielded the same XI that defeated Oman earlier, while India relied on key players like Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav, and Jasprit Bumrah.
This marked the second India-Pakistan clash in six months, following India’s six-wicket win in the Champions Trophy on February 23, and the first since May’s military tensions.
Historically, India leads Pakistan in Asia Cup encounters, winning 10 of 19 matches (ODI and T20I), with Pakistan’s last victory in 2022. India has claimed the Asia Cup title eight times, while Pakistan has won twice.
