THE HAGUE – The annual Embassy Festival 2025 lit up the historic streets of Lange Voorhout in The Hague with vibrant colours, music, and cultural diversity, attracting thousands of visitors from across the globe. More than 50 embassies showcased their cuisines, arts, and traditions in this international cultural carnival.
Pakistani stall captivates visitors
The Pakistani Embassy’s active participation stood out, drawing widespread attention and admiration. The delegation, including Jamal Nasir, First Secretary Muhammad Junaid, Private Secretary Amjad, Nadeem Malik, and Muhammad Shafiq, warmly welcomed visitors, projecting a positive and hospitable image of Pakistan.
A special women’s section showcased traditional attire, jewellery, and handicrafts, while the stall’s striking décor highlighted Pakistan’s cultural richness. Visitors praised the display for offering an authentic glimpse of Pakistani heritage.
Khawaja Muhammad Saeed, Chairman of the Intercultural Progressive Organization, suggested including traditional men’s and children’s clothing such as shalwar kameez in next year’s stall, a proposal the Embassy welcomed.
Culture meets fun and education
To engage young visitors, the Embassy arranged a Ludo Championship for children, awarding prizes and certificates to the winners. This initiative not only entertained but also promoted social interaction and cultural bonding.
Meanwhile, festival organizers introduced an “Activity Passport,” allowing visitors to collect stamps from different stalls and win prizes. The initiative made the event more engaging and educational.
Spotlight on fine arts
In a major cultural announcement, Dr. Salman Ahmed, Chairman of the Sadequain Foundation USA, revealed plans to bring 50 high-quality reproductions and original artworks of legendary Pakistani artist Sadequain for an exhibition in the Netherlands. This event is expected to add a new dimension to Pakistan’s cultural diplomacy.

The Embassy Festival 2025 once again proved that cultural exchange fosters international friendship. Pakistan’s participation not only promoted its traditions but also projected a positive, vibrant, and artistic image on the world stage.
