At a ceremony held at Khokhar Palace in Lahore, President of PML-N Malik Saif-ul-Malook Khokhar (MNA) and Malik Anosh Azmat Khokhar Numbardar (Coordinator to the Punjab Sports Minister) distributed financial assistance checks totaling Rs5 million to the heirs of a family devastated by a tragic roof collapse last month.
The event was attended by local leaders and community members, reflecting solidarity with the grieving families. Last month, in Meridwala Niaz Baig (NA-126, PP-168), torrential monsoon rains triggered a catastrophic roof collapse, claiming the lives of five members of a single family.

The heavy rainfall, part of the intense 2025 monsoon season, caused widespread flooding and structural damage across Punjab, leaving many homes vulnerable.
The incident highlighted the dangers of aging infrastructure amid extreme weather, with monsoon rains exacerbating risks in low-lying areas like Niaz Baig. On the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, and through the dedicated efforts of Provincial Minister Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, relief checks of Rs5 million (1 million rupees per deceased person’s heirs) were provided to support the bereaved family.
This initiative underscores the Punjab government’s commitment to aiding victims of monsoon-related disasters, offering financial relief to rebuild lives shattered by the tragedy.
