LAHORE – Under the directives of XEN Raiwind, Engineer Ali Raza, the Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has intensified its crackdown on electricity theft and defaulted payments in the Ali Razabad area. Spearheading the campaign, Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Irfan Ali and his team have conducted successful field operations against power pilferers and chronic bill defaulters.

Thanks to these aggressive operations, the division achieved 100% recovery of outstanding dues for the month. In several cases, thousands of detection units were charged to consumers found guilty of power theft, and many of these dues were collected on the spot. Field teams remained active across various locations, using advanced tools to identify illegal connections and meter tampering.
Lesco’s Chief Executive Officer Ramzan Butt praised the efforts of XEN Ali Raza and SDO Irfan Ali for their commitment and outstanding performance. In recognition of his dedicated service and exceptional results, SDO Irfan Ali became the first SDO to be awarded a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 by the Lesco Chief.
CEO Ramzan Butt stated that such performance should set a precedent for others in the department and reaffirmed Lesco’s zero-tolerance policy towards electricity theft and bill default. He emphasized that the utility company will continue its rigorous operations to ensure power sector sustainability and improved customer service.
Lesco officials also mentioned that the operations in Ali Razabad are part of a larger anti-theft campaign being carried out across the region. Special teams have been equipped with digital monitoring tools and mobile apps to enhance transparency and accountability during inspections. Consumers have also been urged to report any illegal electricity connections in their areas to help reduce line losses and maintain uninterrupted supply.
The appreciation and reward given to SDO Irfan Ali not only reflect Lesco management’s commitment to encouraging front-line officers but also signals a firm resolve to bring structural improvement in power distribution efficiency.
Lesco plans to continue its targeted efforts to recover dues and curb electricity theft in all divisions, ensuring reliable power supply to its consumers and protection of national resources.
