Since the start of monsoon season earlier this week, rain-related disasters have claimed 45 lives across Pakistan, according to a report by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
The NDMA report details that the fatalities include 13 in Punjab, 21 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), 7 in Sindh, and 4 in Balochistan, with 23 children, 10 women, and 12 men among the deceased.

Additionally, 68 people have been injured, comprising 26 children, 16 women, and 26 men. The injuries are categorized as follows: 39 in Punjab, 11 in KP, 16 in Sindh, and 2 in Balochistan.
The heavy rainfall has caused significant property damage, with 19 houses partially affected in Punjab. In KP, 50 houses were completely destroyed, and 10 sustained partial damage. In Balochistan, 10 houses were partially damaged.
During the crisis, nine rescue operations were conducted nationwide, including one each in KP, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Balochistan, successfully saving 135 individuals.
