LAHORE: The Christian community in Gujranwala expressed heartfelt gratitude over the legal restoration and institutional revival of the historic and prestigious religious education institution Gujranwala Theological Seminary (GTS). The acknowledgment came under the leadership of Pastor Majid Abel, who thanked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the District Administration of Gujranwala, the Registrar’s Office, and the honourable judiciary for their unwavering support in ensuring justice.

Speaking to media representatives, Pastor Majid Abel said that Gujranwala Theological Seminary is not just an educational institution; it is a vital chapter in the ecclesiastical history of the subcontinent. For decades, it has produced highly trained religious leaders serving both nationally and internationally. Though the institution faced many trials, its rightful restoration to the Legal Board is a true victory of justice.
He also paid rich tribute to Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, stating that General Asim Munir has restored confidence in Pakistan at both internal and global fronts. Whether it’s responding to Indian aggression or elevating Pakistan’s global image, his leadership has made the nation proud.
The dinner hosted in his honour by U.S. President Donald Trump is a matter of national pride.
To mark the occasion, a peaceful and organized rally was also held, led by Pastor Majid Abel (Chairman, Board of Directors, GTS), along with Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan, Pastor Arif Siraj, and several prominent church and community leaders.
Participants from across Gujranwala joined the rally with full enthusiasm, chanting patriotic slogans such as Long Live Field Marshal General Asim Munir, Long Live Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz,
Long Live Commissioner Gujranwala,Long Live Deputy Commissioner and CPO Gujranwala.
These slogans reflected the community’s deep trust in state institutions, national unity, and unwavering loyalty. On this occasion, the Christian community extended special thanks to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her commendable services for the welfare of Christian citizens and for championing minority rights across the province.
The rally concluded with a collective prayer for the peace, prosperity, and development of Pakistan.
