Comprehensive inspection of hostels for Summer Games 2025 Athletes; facilities reviewed
LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Sports, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, paid a visit to the Nishtar Park Sports Complex, where he conducted a detailed inspection of the hostels set up for athletes participating in the Summer Games 2025, organized under the Punjab Sports Board.

On the occasion, Director General Sports Punjab, Mr. Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, briefed the Minister on the arrangements made for the athletes. He informed that over 700 athletes are being provided with international-standard accommodation, meals, medical assistance, security, air-conditioning, clean drinking water, daily allowances, and other essential amenities.
Minister Khokhar personally checked the quality of drinking water and interacted with athletes — particularly female participants, to gather their feedback on cleanliness and hygiene standards. The athletes expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, terming them efficient and well-managed.
In a significant announcement, the Sports Minister stated that on the special instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, all participating athletes in the Summer Games will be provided with three high-quality meals a day.
He added that the Punjab government is committed to encouraging young talent and promoting a vibrant, healthy, and organized sports culture in the province. We are dedicated to ensuring a brighter future for our youth in the field of sports. The Minister also reviewed other critical aspects such as training infrastructure, coaching, refreshment provision, and sports equipment, and directed the officials to implement a continuous monitoring system to further enhance the quality of services being provided.
