KOLKATA (Web Desk) – India national cricket team defeated West Indies cricket team by 5 wickets in a crucial Super 8 Group 1 match of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, earning a place in the semi-finals.
Chasing 196 set by West Indies, India reached the target in the final over, finishing at 196/5. Sanju Samson was the star performer, remaining unbeaten on 97, while Tilak Varma scored 27, Suryakumar Yadav 18, and Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma contributed 10 runs each.
West Indies, batting first, scored 195/4 in their 20 overs. Key contributions came from Roston Chase (40), Jason Holder (37), Rovman Powell (34), and Shai Hope (32).
Jasprit Bumrah took 2 wickets for India, helping restrict West Indies to a chaseable total.
