LAHORE: three-day Faiz Festival begins today at the Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) in Lahore, organized under the patronage of the Government of Punjab, bringing together literary figures, artists and delegates from Pakistan and abroad.

The festival, named after renowned poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz, will start with an opening ceremony at 2pm, followed by an exhibition.
On the first day, a session on the book Pakistani Architecture will feature Shahida Dilawar Shah, Kamran Lashari, Dr. Ghaffer Shehzad and Kamil Khan Mumtaz.
Another discussion titled The Missing Prayer will include Ammar Aziz, Alona Yusuf and Wasim Anwar. Meanwhile, The Sufi Storytelling session will feature Fiqah Mansab, Dr. Sarnia Haq and Dr. Maria Farooq Man.
In the session Akbar in Wonderland, Farah Zia and Amber Khairi will engage with the audience.
The renowned Ajoka Theatre will present its play Dara during the festival.
A digital broadcasting workshop will also be conducted by Yousaf Ibrahim, focusing on skill sharing and media innovation.
Festival organizers said the event will include around 40 sessions, 25 book launch ceremonies, workshops, theatre performances, open mic sessions, book fair activities, food stalls, drum circles, classical dance and music performances.
Officials added that the festival aims to promote literature, cultural dialogue and artistic expression while providing a platform for emerging and established voices.
