LAHORE: Minister for Minorities Affairs Ramesh Aroora stated that the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif is to reconnect the younger generation with Punjab’s rich culture and traditions, adding that the revival of Basant reflects the government’s commitment to cultural awareness, positivity, and harmony.

He said that cultural festivals and the restoration of heritage sites are being promoted in a planned and dignified manner so that the youth, who were deprived of celebrating such traditions for many years, can rediscover their cultural identity.
He was addressing a 20-member Sikh delegation from the UK and USA during their visit to Poonch House and the Bhagat Singh Gallery. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Secretary Tourism Socrat Aman Rana, Managing Director TDCP Asim Raza, and Consultant Archaeology Maqsood Ahmed.
On the occasion, Consultant Archaeology Maqsood Ahmed briefed the delegation about the historical significance of Poonch House and the establishment of the Bhagat Singh Gallery. Both the visiting delegation and Minister Ramesh Aroora praised the efforts of former Secretary Tourism Dr. Ehsan Bhutta for his key role in the revival of the Poonch House and Bhagat Singh Gallery.
The visiting Sikh delegation also appreciated the initiatives taken by the Tourism and Industries Departments and thanked the Punjab Government for promoting cultural harmony, heritage preservation, and religious tourism.
