LAHORE: February 04 — A delegation of the Pakistan Overseas Forum, led by Vice Chairman Ghulam Mustafa Diwan, visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and held a detailed meeting with LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol, Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, and Vice President Khurram Lodhi. The meeting focused on the welfare of overseas Pakistanis, promotion of investment, increase in remittances, and the role of overseas Pakistanis in Pakistan’s economic development.

Members of the LCCI Executive Committee, including Rana Shaban Akhtar, Rana Nisar, Aamir Ali, and Ahsan Shahid, were also present. Convener of the LCCI Standing Committee on Pakistan Overseas Forum Affairs, Ramiz Diwan, Patron of the Europe Chapter of the Pakistan Overseas Forum, Tariq Javed Gondal, and Faisal Sapra also attended the meeting.
Welcoming the delegation, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said that overseas Pakistanis have provided strong support to Pakistan’s economy through remittances, and the Lahore Chamber pays tribute to their valuable contributions. He said that even during difficult economic times, the role of the overseas community has been commendable, helping to stabilize the country’s foreign exchange reserves. He reaffirmed that the Lahore Chamber will continue to raise its voice for the welfare of overseas Pakistanis at every forum.
Speaking on the occasion, delegation leader Ghulam Mustafa Diwan informed the LCCI President that the Pakistan Overseas Forum is active in 35 countries with more than 10,000 members. He said the Forum is working for the welfare of overseas Pakistani communities, promoting a positive image of Pakistan abroad, and creating investment opportunities in the country. He added that overseas Pakistanis are not only supporting the economy through remittances but are also serving as ambassadors of Pakistan in their respective countries. He emphasized that the Pakistan Overseas Forum aims to work closely with the government and the business community to take practical steps to resolve issues faced by overseas Pakistanis and to facilitate investment in Pakistan.
The LCCI President further said that a dedicated Overseas Desk will be established at the Lahore Chamber to ensure quick resolution of issues faced by overseas Pakistanis and to maintain effective communication with them. This desk will provide assistance in business, investment, registration, and other related matters. He added that if overseas Pakistanis bring their skills, investment, and experience to Pakistan, it will create new employment opportunities and promote industrial and commercial activities.
Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh and Vice President Khurram Lodhi also appreciated the role of the overseas community, stating that close cooperation between the Lahore Chamber and the Pakistan Overseas Forum will help address issues of overseas Pakistanis and strengthen the national economy. At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to further enhance mutual coordination and cooperation in the future.
