DIG Kamran said a high-level investigation committee has been formed, and a formal notification has been issued. The committee is expected to submit its findings within 24 hours.
He added that the victim’s family may register a case if they choose. Authorities have suspended the LDA Project Director and TEPA Director Shabbir Hussain in connection with the incident. All relevant departments are working jointly to locate the missing child.
It is pertinent to mention here that earlier the authorities termed the incident as fake, saying that technically it was impossible that someone have fallen into the manhole and could not be recovered.
