The event was held under the auspices of the ICCD, in collaboration with FPCCI, AlBaraka Bank, and the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC).
Zahid Iqbal Chaudhry stated that the objective of this forum was to promote economic development through sustainable tourism, strengthen international cooperation, and create new opportunities for investment and partnerships in the tourism sector in Pakistan as well as across the Islamic world.
Praising the organization of this important forum, Zahid Iqbal Chaudhry said that this initiative by the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development has not only highlighted Pakistan’s tourism potential but has also promoted sustainable and community-based tourism models, thereby enhancing regional economies and creating employment opportunities.
He expressed hope that this conference would establish strong linkages among the private sectors of the 57 OIC member countries and prove helpful in presenting Pakistan as a sustainable tourism destination on the global stage.
Zahid Iqbal Chaudhry further stated that this forum — which featured Muslim countries’ intellectuals, experts, government officials, and representatives from the business community discussing topics such as medical tourism, heritage management, halal tourism, the use of technology, and environmental impacts — would serve as an important milestone in fostering stronger ties among the 57 member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and in establishing Pakistan as a prominent tourism destination.
