LAHORE: Jan 19: Lahore Police continue citywide search and combing operations to further improve the law and order situation in the provincial capital.
spokesperson for Lahore Police, more than 400 search operations have been conducted so far this month, during which over 13,000 houses and more than 5,000 tenants were checked.

In a statement issued on Monday, the spokesperson said that the identity verification and screening of over 39,000 individuals had been carried out. During the operations, police also checked 181 shops, 79 hostels, 35 guest houses, 12 hotels and 16 warehouses. Legal action was taken against 70 individuals for various violations.
The spokesperson added that 24 proclaimed offenders were arrested during the operations, while 11 cases were registered over the recovery of illegal weapons. In addition, 18 cases were registered under the Tenancy Act and eight persons were taken into custody under Sections 55/109 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Lahore Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that search and combing operations would continue without interruption to ensure peace in the provincial capital. He directed officers to enforce strict checking at all entry and exit points of the city and instructed all officers and personnel to remain vigilant and actively perform their duties in their respective areas.
The CCPO further said that no effort would be spared to safeguard the lives and property of the citizens and that decisive measures would continue to curb criminal elements.
