LAHORE: Police have solved the kidnapping and brutal murder of 17-year-old Sania from Raiwind, arresting an acquaintance who turned out to be the killer, officials said on Saturday.

DIG Investigation Lahore Syed Zeeshan Raza took immediate notice of the case and ordered swift action. Following his directives, a special investigation team was formed under the supervision of SP Investigation Saddar to trace and arrest the suspect.
In-charge Investigation of Raiwind police station, Jamshed Abbas, along with his team, conducted a targeted operation and arrested the accused. During interrogation, the suspect confessed that he killed Sania after a minor argument, attacking her repeatedly with sticks and fleeing the scene after committing the crime.
According to police, the accused and the victim worked together selling SIM cards for a private company. The victim was also residing at the accused’s house at the time of the incident.
SP Investigation Saddar said the suspect was arrested using a combination of modern technology and human intelligence. Police officials vowed that a strong challan would be prepared to ensure the accused is awarded exemplary punishment.
DIG Syed Zeeshan Raza said there would be zero tolerance for those involved in the kidnapping and murder of women and children, adding that criminal elements would be dealt with an iron hand.
Meanwhile, SSP Investigation Muhammad Naveed announced commendation certificates for the police team in recognition of their effective and timely investigation.
