LAHORE: Lahore Electric Supply Company Limited (Lesco) has placed two of its officers under suspension through separate official office orders issued by different administrative authorities, sources confirmed on Tuesday.

According to an office order issued by the Human Resources Directorate at Lesco Headquarters, Mr. Waseem Iqbal, Manager (Commercial) at Lesco HQ, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect on account of alleged misconduct. The order states that during the suspension period, he has been attached with the Director Customer Services Lesco for attendance purposes and will be allowed to draw salary as admissible under the relevant rules. The notification was issued with the approval of the competent authority and dated January 5, 2026.
In a separate office order issued by the Manager Operation, Kasur Circle, Mr. Abdullah Shabbir, Assistant Manager Operation (AMO), Lullyani Sub Division Lesco Kasur, has also been placed under suspension with immediate effect. The order cites increased monthly line losses, recorded at plus 5.0 percent for the month of December 2025, as the stated reason for the administrative action. During the suspension period, the officer has been attached with the Circle Office Kasur for attendance purposes and will continue to receive pay and allowances as admissible under the rules.
The Kasur Circle office order is dated January 3, 2026, and has been circulated to the HR Director, Chief Financial Officer, Customer Services Director, Chief Engineer O&M, and other relevant offices for record and necessary action.
Lesco officials maintained that both actions are administrative in nature and have been taken in accordance with service rules. No further details were disclosed regarding the matters at this stage.
