LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved martyrs’ packages for 14 police personnel in recognition of their ultimate sacrifice for the homeland. The decision was made during a meeting on the Police Martyrs’ Package chaired by Provincial Law Minister Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan at the Home Department.

The meeting, attended by senior officials including Secretary Home Dr. Ahmad Javed Qazi and Additional IGP Imran Arshad, approved Shaheed Package–II for seven officers, including Inspector Shehzad Anwar, Sub-Inspectors Haroon Hayat, Ahmad Raza, and Habibullah, Head Constable Iftikhar Sindhu, and Constables Mehboob Ahmed and Ashfaq Ahmed. Shaheed Package–II was also approved for five constables who were martyred during an encounter with riverine dacoits in Basti Sheikhani, Rahim Yar Khan.
Additionally, Shaheed Package–III was approved for Sub-Inspector Hamid Ameer and Driver Ghulam Murtaza.
Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan directed immediate implementation of the approved packages and emphasized that all dues for the martyrs’ families must be paid without delay. “Those who lay down their lives for the homeland are our true heroes. No injustice will be allowed against any martyr, and their families’ protection and welfare is our top priority,” he said.
