According to the PRA spokesperson, enforcement teams inspected 58 marquees and food points as part of the operation. During the crackdown, the authority seized business records from 11 outlets, including a well-known fast-food chain. The spokesperson further stated that due to serious irregularities, records of four prominent hotels were also taken into custody.
In Lahore’s Johar Town, irregularities were detected in the records of two branches of a popular restaurant and a fast-food chain. Additionally, notices were issued to 40 food points and seven marquees for failing to install the Electronic Invoice Management System (E-IMS).
The PRA spokesperson warned that collecting taxes from the public but failing to deposit them in the national exchequer is a punishable offense. The spokesperson reaffirmed that eliminating fake receipts and ensuring transparent tax collection remain top priorities for the authority.
Citizens have been urged to verify the authenticity of e-bills using the PRA Sahulat mobile application.
