LAHORE, December 26 – Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab Dr. Ehsan Bhutta said the Punjab Government is working to transform the shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) into a model shrine, fully aligned with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz. He said provision of modern facilities and comfort for devotees is a top priority.

He was addressing the “Hazrat Khawaja Gharib Nawaz (RA) National Sufism Conference” held at Data Darbar to mark the beginning of the 814th annual Urs of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti (RA). Dr. Bhutta appreciated the support of the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary Punjab, noting their continued guidance in timely execution of shrine development plans.
He said all Data Darbar development works—including upgradation of the shrine’s front area, Golden Site, mosque and gallery, Langar Khana, Taharat Khana, Wudu area, Sama Hall, parking spaces and additional facilities—will be completed within set timelines, with progress being monitored daily.
Other speakers included Chairman Islamic Ideological Council Dr. Raghib Hussain Naeemi, Prof. Abdul Rauf Rafiqui (Iqbal Academy), Prof. Dr. Syed Sultan Shah (former Dean, GC University) and Prof. Shabbir Ahmad. The conference concluded with Dr. Bhutta presenting copies of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh’s Kashf-ul-Mahjoob to participants.
