LAHORE: The Investigation Wing of Civil Lines police on Thursday claimed to have solved the murder case of an unidentified young man whose body was found dumped in a cemetery on Lytton Road.

Addressing a press conference at his office, SP Investigation Civil Lines Khalid Saeed said that five suspects, including the main accused, had been arrested in connection with the brutal killing.
The SP said the prime suspect was involved in the marquee business, while the remaining accused were his employees. He revealed that the suspects subjected the victim, identified as Ali Haider, to severe torture on suspicion of theft.
“During the torture, Ali Haider was brutally murdered,” SP Khalid Saeed said, adding that after the killing, the suspects placed the body in a vehicle and dumped it in a cemetery on Lytton Road before fleeing the scene.
He said the accused were arrested through professional policing methods and human intelligence. The SP further stated that the main suspect was now in police custody and a strong challan would be submitted to ensure exemplary punishment under the law.
