LAHORE (Dec 17) A contingent of the Lahore police paid homage to martyred Sub-Inspector Muhammad Idrees on his death anniversary by presenting salute at his grave and offering Fateha. A floral wreath was laid at the martyr’s final resting place, while family members of the fallen officer were also present. Sub-Inspector Idrees laid down his life on Dec 17, 1985, during an operation against criminals while posted at the New Anarkali police station.

Meanwhile, Capital City Police Officer Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana, while paying tribute to police martyrs, said those who laid down their lives in the line of duty were a valuable asset to the nation and the police force, adding that the supreme sacrifices of police heroes would always be remembered.
The CCPO said that the courage and bravery of martyred Sub-Inspector Idrees served as a guiding light for the entire force. He added that Lahore police were taking comprehensive measures to ensure welfare of martyrs’ families, with particular emphasis on the education, health and overall well-being of their children. He added that every member of the Lahore police stood like a lead wall against anti-social elements.
