Addressing a press conference at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh, the DIG said that a case bearing FIR No. 1127/25 under Section 365-T was registered at Burki police station regarding the alleged abduction of DSP Usman Haider’s wife and daughter. However, investigations later exposed that Usman Haider himself was behind the brutal killings.
DIG Zeeshan Raza said that on the day of the incident, the accused, while travelling in his official vehicle, had gone to a private hotel with his wife, Samia Usman, and daughter, Khunsa Usman, for dinner. While returning home, he opened fire on them near the Ring Road close to the airport due to domestic disputes, killing both on the spot.
After committing the crime, the DIG said, the accused dumped his wife’s body in a ditch near Kala Shah Kaku, while his daughter’s body was thrown into a sewage drain in the Kahna area. To mislead investigators, the accused later lodged a false abduction case at Burki police station.
According to the DIG, the accused had ongoing disputes with his wife over a property transaction. He added that the daughter was killed because she sided with her mother during the disputes.
DIG Zeeshan Raza said the accused was arrested using professional investigative techniques and is currently in police custody. A strong challan is being prepared to ensure he is awarded the maximum punishment under the law.
He further emphasized that there is zero tolerance for crime within the police force, stating that action will be taken regardless of the rank of any officer found involved in criminal activity.
