Ms. Afsheen Gul, Appraising Officer (BS-16) at the Collectorate of Customs Appraisement (East), Lahore, faced proceedings for unauthorized absence from duty starting 2nd July 2025. During a hearing conducted via Zoom, she admitted to her absence due to health issues and clarified that she had initially submitted her resignation, which was later withdrawn.
After reviewing her record and hearing her assurances to maintain punctuality, the FBR decided to impose a minor penalty: withholding two increments for two years without cumulative effect. The period of her absence is treated as Extra Ordinary Leave without pay. Ms. Gul has the right to appeal within 30 days.
Meanwhile, Mr. Muhammad Ans Butt, Inspector Customs (BS-16) at the Collectorate of Customs (Airports), Islamabad, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect until the completion of disciplinary proceedings, in accordance with Rule 5(1) of the Civil Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 2020.
These actions are part of FBR’s ongoing efforts to enforce discipline and efficiency among its workforce while providing due process.
