ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan has scored another important success in its energy exploration drive with the discovery of fresh oil and gas reserves in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) announced a new discovery in the Nashpa Block, where the Braghzai X-1 well is projected to yield approximately 2,280 barrels of oil per day. The find is being described as a positive development for the national energy sector.

According to OGDCL officials, the well will also generate around 5.6 million cubic feet of gas daily, helping ease pressure on the country’s energy resources. They noted that this is the first hydrocarbon discovery from the Kingriali Formation in the Nashpa Block, opening the door to further exploration potential in the region.
Officials added that drilling work at the well has been successfully completed at a depth of 5,170 meters, underscoring months of technical effort and planning.
Experts believe the discovery could play a useful role in cutting down energy imports and strengthening local production, offering a timely lift to Pakistan’s energy landscape.
