LAHORE — The 58th Foundation Day of the Pakistan Peoples Party will be held on November 30 at Bilawal Park on Raiwind Road in District 4. The decision was finalized during a meeting at the Peoples Secretariat Model Town, chaired by PPP Lahore General Secretary Rana Jamil Manj.

During the meeting, a 13-member coordination committee was formed under the convenership of Haji Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan. Members include Rana Jamil Manj, Faisal Mir, Faiza Malik, Zahid Zulfiqar, Asif Nagra, Chaudhry Atif Rafique, Amjad Jatt, Fayyaz Bhatti, Chaudhry Riaz, Yasir Bara, Rana Ashar and Shahbaz Durrani.
Participants included Faiza Malik, Ashraf Khan, Faisal Mir, Haji Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan, Dr Khayyam Hafeez, Chaudhry Riaz, Majeed Ghauri, Rana Ashar, Munir Dagra, Aamir Naseer Butt, Munzar Abbas Khokhar, Tahir Ghalib, Nadeem Malik, Hassan Ashraf Bhatti and Dr Waseem Mayo.
Addressing the meeting, Jamil Manj announced that the PPP induction program would be held in Green Town on the evening of November 27 to welcome new office-bearers after the reorganization.
Faisal Mir said that only youth and senior leaders should be invited to speak on Foundation Day.
The meeting was also attended by Asif Nagra, Amjad Jatt, Chaudhry Atif Rafique, Dr Khalid Javed Jan, Arif Khan, Naseer Ahmed, Yasir Bara, Riyaz Bhatti, Aslam Gada, Sheikh Irfan, Rao Khalid Advocate, Shahida Jabeen, Rao Shujaat, Riyaz Jatt, Rana Akram, Rana Dilshad, Mansha Bhatti, Wajid Alisha, Khurram Farooq, Tariq Saeed Jatt, Atir Shah, Arif Zafar, Shahbaz Durrani, Anisa Bano, Adnan Khokhar and Mian Ashraf.
They said the party leadership and workers should hold themselves accountable on Foundation Day, make sacrifices and wholeheartedly serve the party. Those who performed well should be recognised. They proposed that the Foundation Day event could also be hosted at Liberty Chowk, Al Hamra or Charing Cross.
They added that flexes and banners for the Foundation Day rally should be displayed across the city. The PPP would celebrate the party’s founding anniversary as people celebrate the birthdays of their loved ones, they said.
Speakers lauded Faisal Mir for taking the initiative to lead the Foundation Day preparations, adding that it was the collective responsibility of all workers to make the event successful.
