LAHORE – Lahore Police have arrested 10,987 suspects involved in drug peddling and trafficking so far this year, according to an official statement on Thursday.

A police spokesperson said the sustained operations led to the seizure of large quantities of illegal substances, including 5,129 kg of charas, 1,106 kg of crystal meth (ice), 556 kg of heroin, 299 kg of opium, and 59,208 litres of liquor.
Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana directed field units to step up the campaign against drug networks, emphasizing that a drug-free Lahore is a top priority.
He also instructed authorities to monitor online sales of narcotics, citing it as an emerging threat.
The CCPO reiterated that all individuals linked to the narcotics supply chain will be rigorously pursued and brought to justice, affirming Lahore Police’s commitment to eradicating drugs from the provincial capital.
