LAHORE: The Alhamra Modern Art Museum Culture Complex recently hosted another engaging and insightful Artist Talk session, featuring distinguished guest artist Ayaz Jokhio. The session offered a profound exploration of the artist’s life, creative journey, inspirations, and skills.

Ayaz Jokhio shared candid reflections on his artistic path, revealing that his journey into art was largely accidental. He noted the absence of a role model during his formative years and emphasized the pivotal role of the National College of Arts (NCA) in shaping his vision. He recalled that, while his early years at NCA were confusing, the institution’s education and training ultimately laid the foundation for his artistic growth. He admitted that even after graduating, he had little expectation of success, yet the NCA experience proved transformative.
The session was skillfully moderated by art educator and visual artist Rabeya Jalil, whose expertise ensured the discussion remained meaningful and engaging.
This initiative was launched under the visionary guidance of Chairman Alhamra, Razi Ahmed, and continues to grow successfully. Alhamra’s Artist Talk series has hosted numerous artists across several sessions, aiming to share the insight and wisdom of experienced artists with the next generation.
Executive Director Alhamra, Mahboob Alam, stated that these sessions honor the contributions of established artists, boost their morale, and provide recognition through Alhamra’s platform. He added that emerging artists, students, and art enthusiasts actively participate, viewing the program as a positive, educational, and artist-friendly initiative.
The session fostered creative dialogue and intellectual exchange, covering contemporary art forms and their evolving expressions. Alhamra remains committed to recognizing the work of authentic artists while providing young artists with a platform to learn, connect, and grow. This program reinforces Alhamra’s ongoing cultural mission and strengthens its role as a cornerstone of Pakistan’s arts and culture landscape.
