Chaudhry Yasin said the party has selected an experienced parliamentarian and the current Secretary General of PPP AJK, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, for the top position in AJK. He reiterated the strong bond between PPP and the people of Kashmir, highlighting the party’s consistent commitment to the Kashmir cause. He also paid tribute to the leadership of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for their contributions to the struggle for Kashmir’s rights.
Raja Pervez Ashraf stated that the PPP commands the required majority in the AJK Legislative Assembly and expressed full confidence in winning the no-confidence motion against the incumbent prime minister. He said the PPP would establish a consensus-based government in AJK, fully prepared to address the long-standing challenges faced by the region. A strong and stable government, he stressed, is essential to deal with Kashmir’s issues.
The PPP will submit the no-confidence motion today (Friday). Following an understanding with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), the party expects the support of 40 assembly members, paving the way for a stable coalition government in Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
