GUJRANWALA (Web Desk) –The image of the police department took another hit as three officers — an SHO, a sub-inspector, and an ASI — were caught red-handed extorting money from a helpless citizen in Gujranwala.

According to reports, the officers forced the victim to sign a stamp paper and snatched money from him in broad daylight. The incident sparked outrage, prompting City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ayaz Saleem to order an immediate inquiry.
The investigation, led by SSP Operations Ghayyur Ahmed, exposed the ugly truth — the officers were guilty as charged. Inspector Luqman, Sub-Inspector Ghulam Fareed, and ASI Khalid were taken into custody, with cases filed under serious charges of abduction, extortion, and misuse of authority.
CPO Ayaz Saleem called the accused “black sheep” who have stained the reputation of the entire department. He vowed strict action, declaring that officers who misuse their uniforms for personal gain will face jail instead of service honors.
The incident has once again raised questions about moral decay within the force — those sworn to protect citizens instead preying upon them.
