LAHORE: German Ambassador to Pakistan, Ms. Ina Lepel, called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan at the Punjab Assembly Chamber today. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, provincial development, parliamentary cooperation, and regional stability.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan appreciated the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Germany, describing Germany as a reliable and constructive partner that has consistently contributed to Pakistan’s socio-economic development. He stated that the Government of Punjab is committed to promoting transparency, sustainable development, and institutional reforms, and emphasized that bilateral cooperation in these areas can be further strengthened.
The Speaker highlighted the significance of Germany’s support in education, healthcare, and technical training and noted that there are vast opportunities for investment in renewable energy, information technology, and the industrial sector. He expressed hope that the early finalization of the Pakistan–Germany Climate Partnership Agreement would prove mutually beneficial for both nations.
Ambassador Ina Lepel reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to its longstanding relationship with Pakistan and expressed readiness to continue cooperation in the fields of education, energy, environment, and vocational training. She further emphasized strengthening parliamentary diplomacy and collaboration in joint development initiatives.
Both sides agreed to enhance institutional linkages and promote collaboration for shared development goals.
