LAHORE: Lahore Police Operations Wing has reported a major breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown against proclaimed offenders (POs), leading to a clear reduction in crime incidents across the city.

Over 21,900 proclaimed offenders arrested during Lahore Police crackdown
According to official statistics, there has been a 20% increase in the arrest of Category-A proclaimed offenders compared to last year. The report reveals that in 2024, 2,253 Category-A offenders were arrested, whereas 2,723 have been apprehended so far this year.
In total, 21,931 proclaimed and court absconders have been arrested. Additionally, 10,355 accused persons, who were nominated in various cases but failed to appear at police stations, have also been taken into custody.
During extensive city-wide operations, Lahore Police successfully arrested 5,694 habitual criminals and 5,882 court absconders. Acting on intelligence-based information, 404 dangerous proclaimed offenders from other districts were also captured.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stated that, alongside maintaining law and order, the arrest of proclaimed offenders is a key performance priority for the force. He said that these arrests have significantly reduced the crime rate in the provincial capital.
“Proclaimed offenders spread fear and insecurity in society. Our intelligence-led operations have dismantled dozens of criminal gangs and restored public confidence,” said Faisal Kamran.
He emphasized that continuous operations against proclaimed offenders are essential for ensuring citizen safety and peace in Lahore. The DIG urged the public to cooperate with the police under the community policing model and to report any information regarding absconders or proclaimed offenders by calling 15.
Lahore Police reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order through proactive enforcement, efficient intelligence coordination, and active public participation.
