LAHORE: Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has said that private educational institutions are partners, not competitors, in promoting education. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan was addressing the fifth oath-taking ceremony of the Pakistan Chamber of Education held at a local hotel in Lahore. The ceremony was attended by Federal Minister Malik Abdul Rasheed, Punjab Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, and other distinguished personalities associated with the field of education.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan said that private schools have spread education in those areas where the government structure could not provide complete facilities. The private sector is currently providing education to 40 percent of Pakistan’s total students, which reflects the parents’ trust in it.
The Speaker said that Punjab today stands as a model province in terms of educational reforms, where remarkable improvement has been achieved in enrollment, literacy, and teacher training. Initiatives such as the Afternoon Schools Program, digital attendance, and PITB monitoring are ensuring that education reaches every corner of the province.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan further stated that the Government of Punjab is promoting partnerships with private institutions to improve curriculum, training, and educational standards. The Pakistan Chamber of Education is playing the role of a bridge between the government and the private sector.
He emphasized that it is now essential to focus on technology, digital literacy, and moral education to prepare the new generation according to modern requirements. Our objective is to develop an education system in which every child can receive quality, equitable, and modern education.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan appreciated the efforts of the Pakistan Chamber of Education and assured that the Punjab Assembly will continue to extend full cooperation in educational reforms and legislation. He said that together, we must lay the foundation for an enlightened, progressive, and prosperous Pakistan.
Later, Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan extended heartfelt birthday greetings to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and cut the birthday cake. He said that under the leadership of Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab is achieving new milestones of progress and stability. The Speaker added that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision is a guarantee of public service, transparent governance, and development.
