LAHORE: During the ongoing 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference being held in Barbados, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) has conferred the “Commonwealth Parliamentarian of the Year Award” upon Speaker Punjab Assembly, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan.

This prestigious award recognizes parliamentarians who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment in promoting parliamentary democracy, good governance, and effective public representation across the Commonwealth.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan has become the first-ever Pakistani and Asian Speaker to receive this distinguished international honor.
The award ceremony was held at the Official Residence of the Prime Minister of Barbados, where the Speaker received the award in recognition of his exceptional contributions to parliamentary excellence.
The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) comprises over 50 member countries, representing more than 180 national, provincial, and territorial parliaments. The selection of Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan for this award is a matter of great pride and honor for Pakistan and the Province of Punjab.
