LAHORE — In order to ensure a secure environment for international cricket, the Lahore police have implemented stringent security measures for the first Test match of the series between Pakistan and South Africa which held at Qaddafi Stafium on Sunday. In a statement, Capital City Police Officer Bilal Siddique Kamyana said that comprehensive security arrangements are in place for the test match.

The foolproof security has been provided to domestic and international players, team officials and spectators. He added that supervisory officers have been directed to maintain close coordination with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and line departments to ensure smooth operations throughout the event, he added. Similarly, Dolphin Squad, Police Response Units and police teams have been deputed to conduct patrolling around players’ accommodations, designated routes and the stadium vicinity, he said. Additionally, key locations were continuously monitored via the Punjab Safe Cities Authority and other control rooms, CCPO noted. Highlighting the importance of smooth traffic flow and parking arrangements, the CCPO directed the implementation of the devised traffic and parking plans.
