ISLAMABAD – Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has officially announced the launch of its direct flight operations to Manchester, United Kingdom (UK), starting from October 25, 2025.

According to a PIA spokesperson, the national flag carrier will operate two weekly flights every Saturday and Tuesday between Islamabad International Airport and Manchester Airport, offering passengers convenient travel timings and affordable fares.
The first direct PIA flight to Manchester will depart from Islamabad International Airport on October 25, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s international operations. The tickets are already available for sale at competitive prices, the spokesperson added.
In the initial phase, PIA will operate flights to Manchester, with plans to gradually expand its UK operations by adding direct flights to London and other destinations.
The introduction of direct flights will allow passengers to reach Manchester in just eight hours, eliminating the inconvenience of stopover flights offered by other airlines.
PIA officials said that this service fulfills the long-standing demand of overseas Pakistanis and frequent travelers who sought non-stop, hassle-free travel options between Pakistan and the United Kingdom.
This new operation marks PIA’s return to the UK route after nearly five years. The airline’s direct flight service to the United Kingdom had been suspended due to regulatory issues, but after successful restructuring and safety upgrades, PIA is now resuming its Europe operations in a phased manner.
The move is being seen as a positive step to strengthen air connectivity between Pakistan and the UK, benefiting business travelers, students, and the Pakistani diaspora living in northern England.
