LAHORE: The Dairy Sellers Union staged a strong protest outside the Lahore Press Club today against what they called the “injustices” of the Director General Food Authority.

Carrying placards and chanting slogans such as “Say No to Media Trial of Natural Milk” and “Reject Multinational Lobbying,” the union leaders condemned what they described as a one-sided propaganda campaign against open and natural milk.

Union leaders said that punitive actions against local dairy businesses amounted to serious victimization that they could not accept under any circumstances. They stressed that they provide 100 percent natural milk that has been consumed by people for centuries, and claimed that the Food Authority’s crackdown resembled the actions of gangsters.
The protestors warned that if operations were not immediately stopped, their agitation would spread across Punjab. They added that today’s demonstration was peaceful and aimed at ensuring their voices were heard.
The Dairy Sellers Union also raised serious questions, arguing that it has not been clarified whether all the milk supplied in Lahore is adulterated, whether the real adulteration mafia has been identified, and who has the authority to decide what qualifies as natural milk. They questioned whether this campaign is part of a multinational conspiracy and whether the DG Food is authorized to conduct media trials. They further asked why there is no alternative lab testing mechanism and whether the DG Food lab results are completely reliable.
Union leaders Chaudhry Naseer Gujjar, President of the Milk Sellers and Suppliers Association Punjab, Chaudhry Fayaz Gujjar, Chairman of the Association, and Baba Sabir, a member of the Union, demanded that all actions be suspended until their concerns are properly addressed.
