LAHORE: Chinese Consul General Zhao Shiren has said that Pakistan and China are not only neighbors but also best friends, and China will not leave Pakistan alone in the health sector.

He expressed these views while presenting medicines and equipment for the prevention of heart diseases to Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) Executive Director Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din as a gift during a ceremony in Lahore.
Consul General Zhao Shiren stated that Pakistan and China will expand cooperation in the medical field. He announced that Pakistani doctors will soon be invited to visit China, followed by Chinese doctors visiting Pakistan, to share knowledge of modern research and technology related to cardiovascular diseases.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din said that awareness about modern cardiac diseases is crucial and Pakistani doctors will benefit from China’s advanced research and technology. He added that after today’s visit of the Consul General, both countries will soon exchange medical delegations and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), enabling Pakistan to access China’s modern healthcare technologies.
Qamar Khan, local partner of Chinese textile company Challenge, emphasized that Pakistan urgently needs advanced technology and research to fight cardiovascular diseases. He revealed that a major Chinese hospital will soon sign an MoU with the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, ensuring that heart patients in Pakistan will no longer need to travel abroad for treatment.
Later, Consul General Zhao Shiren also presented diagnostic kits and preventive medicines for heart diseases to the head of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
