LAHORE: Reunification Team of the Safe City Virtual Center for Child Safety at the Punjab Safe Cities Authority has achieved a major success by reuniting 12 missing children with their families using artificial intelligence and advanced social media tools These children had been found abandoned in various child protection centers and Edhi Centers.

The Safe City team conducted visits to multiple centers and welfare organizations, held detailed interactions with the children, and uploaded their videos on the Safe City social media platform Mera Pyara. Through these videos, the children were identified and successfully reunited with their parents.
According to details, a 10-year-old child from South Cantt, Lahore, and Aqsa who had been at the Edhi Center for over a year, were returned to their families. Similarly, Amna from Gujrat, who had gone missing eight years ago, was also reunited with her parents through the support of the Mera Pyara team.
Other children reunited included Abdullah and Ali from Sahiwal, Fahad from Hafizabad, Jan Ali, a mentally challenged child from Mardan, Muhammad Qasim from Sahiwal, and Irfan from Okara. Additionally, Miraj from Larkana was returned to his mother after three years, and little Faizan from Karachi was reunited with his family in Sahiwal.
The Safe City team ensured that all legal procedures were completed and coordinated with Edhi Centers and the Child Protection Bureau during the reunification process. Videos posted on social media enabled families to promptly identify their children, resulting in a swift and safe reunion.
