LAHORE: Secretary Tourism, Archaeology and Museum Department Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, has said that by leveraging technology and promoting tourism, Punjab is set to become a vibrant hub, attracting both investors and visitors in the near future.

Chairing a meeting with officials of the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), Dr. Bhutta reviewed a series of initiatives aimed at modernizing tourism services. These include automating the Department of Tourist Services (DTS) licensing processes to enhance efficiency and transparency, developing a Punjab Tourism App with a proposed chatbot and user-friendly tools for real-time support, and upgrading the Tourism Helpline 1421 with refresher training for agents, escalation protocols, and live dashboard integration.
Dr Bhutta said these steps will not only boost the local economy but also ensure a seamless experience for tourists. He emphasized that the government remains committed to preserving and showcasing Punjab’s rich historical landmarks, in line with the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman.
