LAHORE: Secretary Price Control and Commodities Management Department Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta has said that monitoring of price control is the top priority.

The government has implemented various initiatives to stabilize prices, including digital monitoring mechanisms, fixed pricing for essential commodities and leveraging artificial intelligence for price monitoring. He was expressing these views while visiting the control room of price control to oversee operations, focusing on price control measures and anti-hoarding efforts. He conveyed that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz and Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman has clearly directed the department and lower formation that no compromise will be accepted who sale the commodities on high price. Action will be taken according the law against them. These efforts aim to protect consumers and ensure fair prices for producers, ultimately contributing to the country’s economic stability.
During visit, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta reviewed live footage from CCTV cameras, took action on suspicious truck movements. Monitoring Teams of Attock and Dera Ghazi Khan were also immediately called asking about the mechanism to check the posts where these trucks were passed. Dr. Ehsan Bhutta.was also briefed regarding action taken till night about Hoardings. He was also briefed that 131 feedmills out of which 85 have been checked so far. Representative of special Branch informed about the action taken on the reports of Price Control and Commodities Management Department.
