LAHORE — The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned YouTuber and artist Iqra Kanwal in an inquiry linked to the promotion of illegal gambling applications.

The probe, launched on August 28, accuses Kanwal of advertising gambling apps on her social media platforms, similar to other influencers including Saadur Rehman (popularly known as Ducky Bhai) and Mudassar Hassan, both of whom have already been arrested.
Along with Kanwal, Rajab Butt and Muhammad Anas have also been directed to appear before the NCCIA Lahore office on September 9. The agency has warned that her absence will be considered a lack of defence.
In a written response filed through her lawyer, Barrister Mian Ali Ashfaq, Kanwal explained that she is currently pregnant and expecting to give birth soon. Her medical team has advised at least two months of rest and recovery, preventing her from attending the inquiry in person.
Her reply assured investigators of complete cooperation once her health stabilizes, including provision of all required records. “She is unable to appear physically at present but will fully assist in the inquiry after her recovery,” the statement added.
Barrister Ashfaq confirmed the legal submission, noting, “Our firm is representing Iqra Kanwal. The reply was drafted on September 2 and filed later as part of our legal course of action.”
