SHAHEED BENAZIRABAD: — First Lady Bibi Aseefa Bhutto Zardari, accompanied by Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Fazal Pechuho, visited the Benazir Institute of Urology and Transplantation (BIUT) on Friday to review its progress and inaugurate new facilities.

A six-month performance report was presented, highlighting BIUT’s achievements. Thousands of patients have benefited from advanced treatments, including non-invasive procedures for stone disease such as ESWL, URS, and PCNL. The institute has also introduced robotic surgery for renal cancer and congenital anomalies, offering minimally invasive care for complex urological conditions.
Thanks to the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, BIUT provides all healthcare services free of cost — from blood transfusions and diagnostic tests to medicines, imaging, and surgeries — ensuring access for patients regardless of income.
The First Lady and Health Minister toured various departments, including dialysis, ICU, radiology, laboratory, and the children’s ward. Bibi Aseefa also inaugurated the newly established Central Sterilization Service Department (CSSD), designed to further strengthen BIUT’s capacity for safe and high-quality healthcare.
