Flood surveillance teams active on Chief Minister Punjab’s directives; rescue and relief operations intensified

LAHORE: In response to the recent flood emergency across Punjab, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) conducting real-time aerial surveillance of flood-affected areas using thermal imaging drone technology.
This advanced monitoring system is enabling timely identification of stranded individuals and ensuring rapid response and rescue coordination. During the past six days, PSCA’s Emergency Helpline 15 received more than 1,500 flood-related calls, all of which were addressed promptly in coordination with relevant rescue and relief agencies.
As per the special directives of Chief Minister Punjab, PSCA’s flood surveillance teams are actively engaged in the field, working closely with district administrations to carry out relief operations. The drones are being used to monitor water levels, affected populations, and potential hazards, ensuring rapid and data-driven decision-making for timely rescue.
Rescue and relief operations are being carried out round-the-clock through Smart Safe City Centers in various districts including Muzaffargarh, Jhang, Bahawalnagar, Mianwali, Vehari, and others.A notable success was achieved in Mauza Doaba (River Chenab), Muzaffargarh where several individuals trapped by floodwaters were successfully located and rescued using thermal drone technology The PSCA spokesperson has appealed to the public to immediately contact Helpline 15 in any emergency situation, so timely assistance can be provided and precious lives can be protected.
